Rubix is committed to sustainability in every aspect of our work. Our ambition is to journey with clients to deliver projects that improve lives and landscapes, and our actions reflect this vision.
We have been Toitū Net Carbon Zero certified since 2017 and achieved Toitū Climate Positive certification in 2023, going beyond carbon neutrality to create a positive impact. We measure emissions accurately and implement strategies to manage, reduce and offset impacts in line with science-based targets that support New Zealand’s commitments. We increase offsets through verified carbon credits and make additional contributions to accelerate the transition to a zero-carbon future. We also support community projects such as WAI Wānaka and Matuku Link.
Led by our National Sustainability Lead Peter Sewell, our team is trained in sustainability best practice and design principles. We have NZGBC Green Star Practitioners and Accredited Professionals who encourage clients to adopt initiatives such as Green Star Certification, Living Building Challenge, Zero Carbon strategies and waste management practices. Rubix is an active member of the New Zealand Green Building Council and regularly participates in industry events.
